Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Lumium collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our app to store and share personal memories. We are committed to being transparent about our practices and giving you meaningful control over your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a password. This identifies your account and lets you sign in across devices.

Profile information: Any photo, status, or details you add to your profile.

Memories and content: The photos, videos, audio recordings, drawings, and text posts you upload, along with captions, dates, locations, and mood tags you add to them. Album memories may contain multiple media items.

Location data: When you add a location to a memory or allow camera metadata, we may use coordinates to place your memories on a map. Location is optional and you control whether to include it.

Messages: The content of direct and group chat messages you send to other users.

Contacts and friends: When you add friends or tag people in memories, we store the email addresses needed to connect you. We do not upload your phone's contact list automatically.

Notification preferences: Your choices about which email or in-app notifications you receive.

Usage and device data: We may collect technical information such as device type and interaction logs to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide the Service: to display your memories, connect you with friends, deliver messages, and show your content where you choose. We also use it to send notifications and email digests you have opted into, to secure and maintain the Service, to comply with legal obligations, and to improve features over time.

3. How We Share Your Information

Visibility you control: Memories you mark as public may be visible to other users. Memories tagged with friends are visible to those friends. Private memories are visible only to you unless you choose to share them.

Service providers: We use trusted third parties for hosting, mapping, geocoding, email delivery, and authentication. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services and under appropriate confidentiality obligations.

Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Lumium, our users, or others.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your memories and account data are stored on secure servers. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to keep copies of content that is important to you.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Privacy controls: You can set each memory to private or public, choose which friends to tag, and manage who can reach you in chat.

Notifications: You can adjust or turn off email and in-app notifications in Settings at any time.

Account access and deletion: You can view and edit your profile information. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functionality and to understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect features of the Service.

7. Children's Privacy

Lumium is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Users

Lumium may be used from many countries. If you access the Service from outside the region where it is operated, your information may be transferred to and processed in that region. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers where applicable.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other means and update the "Last updated" date above.
